Packaging made entirely from one type of material, making it easier to recycle.

That is great news! If you wish to further improve, you can use recycled or biobased materials. You might be interested to know most of our glass items already contain recycled glass.

Packaging made from mono materials such as PET, PE, PP and glass are good recyclable as there is a collection, sorting, and recycling infrastructure in place. Other materials and multi-layer materials are difficult to recycle or there is no recycling stream in place.

White, natural, or light colours are preferable. Dark colours can only be used if there is no carbon black pigment in the colourant.

Is the main colour of your jar or bottle clear, coloured (but still transparent) or white?*

Yes

Perfect, you are already using the preferable colours. The best choice for PET would be clear or light blue. Please note, for PET white the L-value of the colour should be >85. This value can be found in the material specification of the packaging, or it can be requested at your supplier. All Pont PET white items have a value >85.

The colours PET black, dark opaque colours and metallic should be avoided as these are unfortunately not recyclable today. We monitor the EU guidelines that are updated on a regular base and keep track of innovations in recycling. New developments might change the recyclability of these colours.

Closures made of PE, PP, metal, or fiber materials are compatible with the current waste streams. Other materials are difficult to recycle or there are no waste streams available for these materials.

These three elements can disturb the sorting and recycling process. If you are not sure the correct label is applied, you can check this with your label supplier.
