The complete packaging solution works well for a wide range of manufacturing applications with its wide mouth, tamper evident design whilst also satisfying the demands of the consumer for an easily recyclable but also easy to use product.
All sizes of the Hinge Guard Roundpacker have the same 43mm neck making life easier for the manufacturer and giving a uniform look to the product range.
The Cap is made of LDPE which can be recycled together with the HDPE of the container.
The recyclability of a package as a whole is vitally important to a circular economy . Different materials for container and closure can mean that both items don’t make it through the sorting stage unless consumers separate them in the home.
By creating a complete unit in the same plastic or Mono-material and also using a hinge guard design where the container and closure are never separated, this reliance on the consumer is taken away and likelihood of successful recycling is greatly increased.
Bio-based PE is an excellent alternative to the oil based version as it holds all the same technical properties but is made from Biomass – a product coming from plants such as corn or sugar cane. It is certified for food use making it popular for a much wider range of uses and the recyclability of products is also not compromised as the Bio-based and oil based PE plastics can be recycled in the same stream. As the interest in Bio-based plastics increases, so does the global demand for raw material and we must assess new projects based upon raw material availability at the time.
